Bergen city

On Wednesday, we went to Bergen from early morning to evening.

We started by visiting a newly built, modern school named Amalie Skram vgs. Their principle showed us the school and told us about the school’s history, the curriculum and the school’s open door policy. The school is open for anyone who would like to use the swimming pool, the gym and the canteen. After the visit, we went to a museum called the “School Museum”. The purpose of this museum is to show and talk about how schools were in the “good” old days, and how Norwegian schools have developed through the years.

After our visit at the School Museum, we went to “Fløibanen”. Fløibanen is a funicular that goes up a steep hill towards the top of a mountain called Fløyfjellet. – an exciting experience! At Fløyfjellet, the students were allowed to go and wander around by themselves and snap some pictures of the beautiful view of Bergen. After having this interesting tour through Bergen, we finally got ourselves to a restaurant named Friday’s at the school’s expense. At this time, the teachers and students split and the foreign students were free to join the students from Os at the Aquarium. They were especially impressed by the seals and their performances.

After visiting the Aquarium, the students went to a place called Wasteland; here, you can play laser games, also known as Laser Tag. The point of this is to shoot the other teams on their sensors with a laser, for each hit, you get a point. The students thought this was the most exciting activity of the day.

The teachers went to Bryggeloftet to eat lunch.

After lunch there was a guided tour of the city, by one of Os vgs's teachers Kjellaug.
